Abstrak

Asesmen awal merupakan fase kritis dalam proses konseling yang menentukan keberhasilan intervensi selanjutnya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengulas prosedur kunci dalam asesmen awal, meliputi wawancara penerimaan, pemeriksaan status mental, penggunaan inventori skrining, serta asesmen risiko bunuh diri. Melalui pendekatan sistematis, konselor dapat mengumpulkan informasi klinis yang akurat sekaligus membangun aliansi terapeutik. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan instrumen terstandar seperti Inventory of Common Problems dan Symptom Check List-90-Revised dapat meningkatkan efektivitas diagnosis dan perencanaan perawatan. Secara keseluruhan, artikel ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi multi-metode untuk meminimalkan bias dan memastikan layanan yang etis serta berbasis bukti.
