Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat: Penapisan Kolesterol Total dalam Upaya Pencegahan Penyakit Jantung Koroner pada Usia Produktif

Kolesterol total yang tinggi merupakan faktor risiko signifikan untuk penyakit jantung koroner, terutama pada populasi usia produktif. Deteksi dini tingkat kolesterol memainkan peran penting dalam mengurangi risiko komplikasi kesehatan yang dapat terjadi. Kegiatan pelayanan masyarakat ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) yang berfokus pada pendidikan kesehatan dan skrining kolesterol total pada 40 individu usia produktif, dengan tujuan meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengendalian kolesterol. Pendidikan yang diberikan mencakup informasi tentang faktor risiko peningkatan kolesterol, seperti pola makan tinggi lemak jenuh dan kurangnya aktivitas fisik, serta langkah-langkah pencegahan yang dapat diterapkan. Skrining dilakukan untuk mendeteksi individu dengan kadar kolesterol tinggi agar dapat diambil langkah pencegahan yang sesuai. Rata-rata kadar kolesterol total peserta adalah 224,55 mg/dL, dengan rata-rata usia 43,97 tahun. Konseling dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang risiko kolesterol tinggi dan pentingnya gaya hidup sehat untuk menjaga kadar kolesterol. Pendidikan dan skrining kolesterol total diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran peserta tentang risiko kolesterol tinggi dan pentingnya pencegahan melalui perubahan gaya hidup. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat mengurangi risiko komplikasi terkait kolesterol pada kelompok usia produktif.
